The National Assembly’s Sustainable Development, Spatial and Regional Planning Committee has entrusted the MP of Indre-et-Loire, Sophie Métadier, and the Deputy of The North, Valérie Petit, with a flash mission, dedicated to the question “Nature in the City”.
MUGO sent a political plea to the Members of Parliament “with regulatory proposals to promote nature in cities”. MUGO is the only landscaping company having contributed to this mission by auditioning public and private stakeholders for over a month.
We are proud to see that some of our proposals have been included in the report such as the systematisation of the Biotope Area Factor (BAF), the application of a green percentage per project, an assessment on biodiversity in the cities, the reinforcement of qualitative greening criteria, the acknowledgement of nature in the city as a tool for public health.
To conclude, the rapporteurs insist very strongly on “the necessity to delve deeper into the question of Nature in the City during the next term through a large-scale awareness campaign”.
Let’s join forces to ensure this plea is heard and let’s bring back nature in the city at our own scale!
